Admissions
The first step to admission into Phoenix Outdoor is to determine if our wilderness therapy program fits the needs of your adolescent and family. Phoenix Outdoor accepts adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 who are struggling with any of the following:
- Substance use or abuse
- Oppositional and defiant behavior
- Negative peer influences
- Academic problems
- Computer or Internet addiction
- Low motivation/underachievement
- Depression
- Unresolved trauma
- Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Bipolar disorder
- Low self-esteem
- Generalized anxiety
- Complicated bereavement
- Personality/attachment issues
If your teen is struggling with one or more of these issues, the next step is to fill out an application online or download and return a Phoenix Outdoor Student Application Package. A Phoenix Outdoor Admissions Counselor will take the time to understand your child's needs and speak to any individual, such as an Educational Consultant or clinical professional, that referred your teenager to the program, in order to ensure an appropriate match. The clinical department will work in concert with the admissions team to help determine if Phoenix Outdoor is the right wilderness therapy program for your child.
We are pleased to offer a secure online application for admission. The application process helps us ensure that we are the right program for your loved one as well as determine which group and therapist will be the best fit for their individual needs. Please take your time and be thorough with the application process. The application usually takes about an hour to complete and gives us the valuable information we need to make an informed decision about treatment options for your family.
