Family Therapist

We believe that the entire family, not just the adolescent, needs help and support during their time with Phoenix Outdoor. As a result, each family is assigned a family therapist. The family therapist works closely with the adolescent therapist to ensure that they are connected to the plan and process your teenager is working through.

Each week, a call is scheduled with the family therapist and can include both parents, siblings, or individual time with divorced parents. The focus of these meetings is to help you process your feelings and emotions, the impact of information you are learning about your teenager, and any issues you have in being ready to make a decision for your student's after care. The family therapist will offer feedback, support, and advice and can be of enormous value in helping the family heal and move forward.

The family therapist also works with parent groups by leading the weekly parent support conference call and providing educational conference calls on different parenting issues such as setting boundaries and better communication strategies.
